A Notary Public may notarize a signature on a document written in a foreign language that the notary does not understand. However the document must be completely filled out with no empty spaces and to attach a notarial certificate wording in english. 

If a client comes in with a document in another language, please make sure what notarial certificate is in english and ask the receiving party what type of certificate the document needs.
